updating at 12:24pm... in fantasy football, this has not been my best year... finishing out of the playoffs, next to last, in the espn league (where i was near the top the last two years) was disappointing as my team simply did not perform well in the second half of the season and i dropped the last six in a row after starting out 5-2... i might have won two of my loses had i paid attention those two weeks, but i missed a couple or few thursday night games that hurt during the season... heading into the consolation bracket of the playoffs i didn't expect much and in the first playoff week i tied (first non-win in seven weeks) but the guy i played won the tie-breaker because he scored more points during the season and was the higher seed... if they would have used bench as the tie breaker i'd have gotten the edge, but oh well... i don't have much hope for this week but anything can happen... jackson finished last and won her playoff game so she is in the game ahead of me this week as i dropped... one more week and there is a chance jackson and i will play each other if both of our teams lose...
so overall it was a mediocre season so far... picking 12th in a 12 person league that emphasizes running backs pretty much set the tone from the draft day... doug martin, my first pick at #12, was a bust... frank gore, my 4th pick at 37th, was a bust... and i never recovered... my wide receiver picks were great, but in a running back dominated league, my choices were limited and my picks were major disappointments this year... demaryius thomas, ty hilton, and andre johnson were my first three wide receiver picks and while johnson was a disappointment, i had julian edelman and others to fill in and josh gordon the last few weeks... but they still were not enough to make up for the running backs (did i mention stephen ridley, my ninth pick?) and the other two big busts, the seattle defense and cameron, my tight end pick in round eight... jay cutler, my 19th round pick, didn't help either... anyway, tough draft, tough second half of the year, and i accept being a bottom dweller as the season ends...

musical distractions
If people had visible signs or meters that told something about them, what would you want it to tell you?
dumb poll (above), smart responders
all the previous poll votes were somehow erased, so, nevermind... ironically or coincidentally or whatever, the results were very close in practical numbers to the results above shown with just three votes, if you understand the mathematics behind that extrapolative reasoning... i will probably remove the poll at some point... it is a ridiculously useless feature...
SEARCH ME
the thing is, with my tendency to babble and meander and whine and allow distraction to take the lead more often than not, even in this blog that sort of meant to merge brevity with focus like some bloggers do, searching for key words does not always lead to specific information about the subject of that key word... but... here is a start at an easy way to search for key words in this blog... use the search box at the top of the blog to search for words not listed here... if ya wanna, that is... and feel free to suggest words to add to this search shortcut section... click on the words below :)
