baseball fever

living with jackson who is one of the most avid and loyal sports fans i've ever met brings more spectating into my life than there would be if i didn't live with her cuz i'd rather play than watch, but her excitement and enjoyment of watching her favorite teams is so much fun that i (being empathic and prone to emosional osmosis) absord her enthusiasm and enjoy the experience almost as much (if not more cuz she is more invested in her teams than i am) than she does... so we have been loving the cubs surprising ride to the playoffs and cheered the surprising defeat of the pirates and even more surprising defeat of the cards and now, we are trying not to feel too bad about the sudden disappearance of the cubs as they play the mets... the mets are darn good, especially their pitching, and they have more experience, but the sudden lack of hitting and sudden break down of pitching is still painful to watch... we are hoping the bats wake up and the pitching tightens up when they head home to chicago but they laid their best pitchers out in the first two games so it's tough, they really need their bats to wake up...

hopefully they will not only try for home runs and they will remember that a home run is just one run without base hits and walks...

there's always hope...
