gonna be great

thinking it's gonna be great puts expectations on the future that are at the very least unnecessary and sometimes can be quite stupid... yes, we can pun-ish the meaning of the words by inserting a reference like thinking it's gonna be great puts expectations, great expectations, even, on the future... but that would be silly (or, on the other hand, could enhance and deeper the meaning of the thought in the words if you it doesn't scare the dickens out of you... i mean, if you know the dickens... heck, i imagine many people who think they've had an education don't even have a dickens in them... how many of you have had a dickens in you?...

the expectations you set on yourself and your life pre-determine some of what you will experience but even more, it influences how you will experience all you experience so be very very careful with your expectations and if you are wise, you'll simply not have anything to do with them... that's right, one of the primary aspects of wisdom (and achieving it) is reducing your expectations to nil or as near nil as you can get them... it is your choice, after all, in case you don't know that... expectations are inner noise and there is so much noise coming from outside, adding to it is just foolish... the noise is the distraction, and another primary aspect of wisdom is learning how to ignore the noise...

not always easy, but then, it's easiest if you simply never learned how to pay attention to it so it never started distracting you in the first place, but that's a rare child who can know his or her own mind so early in life because the culture teaches us to not only pay attention to the noise, but to worry about it and waste a lot of time and energy stressing and trying to do something about it... nothing is gonna be great that way... especially not your dickens...
