tough loss

too many errors gave the other team too many runs and we were behind from the first inning and kept fighting back to tie the game 19-19 as time expired... they were the home team so they got up one more time... first hitter, the lead off hitter, got on with a single... next batter ground out and the only play was to first, so the runner moved to second... next better hit a fly ball to right, caught, but the runner moved to third... next batter grounded to third, easy play, but the throw was wide and went off the tip of the first baseman's glove and the run scored, we lose 20-19... definitely need to improve defense... me included, no errors, but my reflexes are slower than they were last year and i could have stopped a couple of grounders up the middle if i made great plays on them... i also walked in a run along the way, walking 2-3 batters a game and walking someone in a critical situation is so not right... definitely slower due to extra wight and definitely less control due to the sore arm... hit two singles and a double, a few rbi, and scored twice... also hit into a double play...

they put us into the competitive league and the other teams are good... we will have to play better defense and continue hitting like we hit in this game, or better, to win a game in this league... but we are guaranteed eight regular season games and at least two playoff games (playoffs are double elimination), so it's better than other leagues where we only play seven and a one game elimination playoff... and we are having fun... just hope we win a game or few along the way...
