bad softball, keep trying

yes, losing 14-0 is bad softball... we completely did not show up, including me (i was 0 for 2, grounded out with bases loaded, and yes, only got up twice and was batting 6th... five innings, 20 batters and three of the four outfielders could not catch a ball)... the other team was the team that won the championship last season and had a 50 minute batting practice and warm up session before the game because they showed up early and want to do their best (which takes practice)... our team shows up at the last minute (even jackson this time and she manages the team and the manager sets the tone, but she was not really here today... she was the last one to show up cuz she was at sanford's and they were busy doing something else and softball was obviously not on their agenda today... and then she gets frustrated with her poor play and even more frustrated when some of the people on the team remark about how sanford is not helping the team cuz she is pretty much an automatic out {she struck out twice today}, doesn't know the game {and obviously does not practice to learn}, and doesn't move to the ball in right field... in fact, sanford has encouraged her to give up softball and love's blinders keep her from seeing this, but still she knows practice is the only way to get better and she does not practice), some of us toss the ball around lightly just a little, and everyone swings the bat for the first time in the batter's box... stepping back and watching the team there is no enthusiasm or energy and everyone is just going through the motions... the field was empty for 20 minutes before game time and everyone just ignored me as i stood out on the field and suggested we warm up... not sure why they sign up to play, they don't seem to want the exercise or practice to improve or even be lose and ready to play and only a few of us hang out after the game so it's not for socializing... at least my other teams want to actually play most of the time... it's just a game, but at least act like you want to play and try to win sometimes, ya know?...

what is most frustrating is watching my best friend continue the pattern of self-defeatism... it's just one more area of life where she undermines her own success by not focusing on the task at hand... personally, the frustration is not being able to figure out how to help her break the self-defeating habits... but i'll keep trying cua that's who i am... giving up on friends who are still within my sphere of influence is not an option and she is still dependent on me financially, so that's well within my sphere of influence... trust and really wanting to change habits can take time, after all...

musical distractions

If people had visible signs or meters that told something about them, what would you want it to tell you?

dumb poll (above), smart responders

all the previous poll votes were somehow erased, so, nevermind... ironically or coincidentally or whatever, the results were very close in practical numbers to the results above shown with just three votes, if you understand the mathematics behind that extrapolative reasoning... i will probably remove the poll at some point... it is a ridiculously useless feature...

SEARCH ME

the thing is, with my tendency to babble and meander and whine and allow distraction to take the lead more often than not, even in this blog that sort of meant to merge brevity with focus like some bloggers do, searching for key words does not always lead to specific information about the subject of that key word... but... here is a start at an easy way to search for key words in this blog... use the search box at the top of the blog to search for words not listed here... if ya wanna, that is... and feel free to suggest words to add to this search shortcut section... click on the words below :)
