afternoon children

we just hung out this afternoon as children do, as best friends do, mostly... i mean watching tv and goofing off and ignoring responsibilities and all that... jackson needed it cuz she's been so very sick with the flu and me, well, it's just what i do more or less full time these days when i am not playing softball (am i rude to smirk here?)... so the walls between slowly come down (what was that old song, carly simon sang it, oh, and how much i miss the tapes left behind in toronto as i wake and remember... and sadly, the fact that the music mixes are missing keep me from waking so often, i forget what awake feels like and accept being asleep as being awake... and where is that concept from?... someday i may remember it all again... sigh and all) and the hope for unconditional trust without guilt or shame or any discomfort continues to smile (even when the eyes refuse to see)... and alone together, together alone, off to softball now...

and the flu?... every day it's a little bit better in every way...
