daily stat report

hey, it's like this... the abundance of free time is likely to soon come to an end and that might bring sadness to the world as these ridiculously abundant updates may dwindle to just a few a day, or even (shudder) less... skip a day?... it's been known to happen... and there might not be much time for the playful numerology reports i provide with ambivalent excitement and obscure unverifiable statistics, which would be quite traumatic to those of us who've become dependent on the excitement that the statistical anomalies and confusion can provide, not to mention these rambling introductions... so before they are gone, here is the latest incomplete and haphazard stat report, replete with the obligatory irreverence...

top ten countries most represented today (in descending order of total visits, of course): United States, Russia, Romania, Malaysia, China, United Kingdom, Denmark, Ireland, Netherlands...

top ten countries most represented this week (same descending order, naturally): United States, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, United Kingdom, China, Germany, Malaysia, Ireland, Colombia...

top ten countries most represented in the past 30 days (in reverse order of total visits, just to change up things to keep us on our toes): Latvia, Malaysia, France, China, Germany, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Russia, Romania, United States...

top ten countries most represented since this blog began (back to the original order, just cuz): United States, Russia, Romania, United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, France, Canada, Ukraine, Latvia...

and all the countries i've found on the lists over the course of this blog (in alphabetical order): Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Columbia, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Ukraine, United Kingdom, US, and Vietnam...

oh, what?... we want actual numbers now?... well, this secret entry is the eleventh most viewed entry and needs your help to bust into the top ten all-time... so don't just sit there click now and click often (and while you are there, feel free to click on all the stuff linked in that magical mystery entry, aye?)... seriously, the fate of the top ten is in your hands...

oh, but that wasn't numbers, was it... well, how about this stat news news... the robots* are taking over the referrals list and my own website might soon be toppled from the number one spot... but i can still hope you are real and caring and enjoying all the babble, right?...

still no actual numbers, huh?... well, there's the cliffhanger... you'll just have to tune into next season for the exciting conclusion (or next episode, actually) of the daily stat report...

i know, too exciting...

narf :)

P.S.... i seriously suggest that you take this good advice if you are finding lots of visitors from specific sites you don't know to your blog(s)... here is google's take on it...

oddly interesting stat part 2

apparently the united kingdom visited 75 times while i slept... and coincidence or not, this entry: oddly interesting stat was visited 75 times in the same time frame... the UK has visited most of any country in the past 24 hours... the U.S, Russia, Germany, Brazil, France Mexico Romania, Slovakia, and Indonesia round out the top ten visits or the same time frame... swo perhaps seo bots are attracted to key words like stat or stats or whatever else is in that entry that so enamoured someone in the U.K. today...

personally, i think you should spend more time letting the all the music (hundreds of songs if you click through) in this entry play with your psyche and emotions and sensitive bits and other flibbertigiblets, but then, that's just me...

now that's a suggestive link, aye?... well, maybe in cartoons... so what shall we make of the stats today?... for the moment, nothing... if i return, perhaps you will find more when you return... so mark it on your calendar to possibly return here at some later date and time to see if the possible return to add more actually occurred... not a complete mystery, but definitely a fun chorus, no doubt... or is that just me too?...

nyuk nyuk... lol... lam... narf :)

learning the stat tricks

ok, so apparently the spambots will not travel back more than a week so an update (catch-up session) that spans more than a week will leave the entries more than a week old without any spambot views therein reducing the page views for those entries... i learned this by observing that the entries from may 31 and june 1 have no page views at all, i mean, none... that means not even you dearly loved devoted readers found your way back there so it is almost defeating the purpose of blogging to let a catch-up session go on for more than a week... noting this for future reference...

on the other hand, when i suddenly flood this blog with entries, the stats go through the roof... the may 27-28th catch-up session suddenly had 325 page views on may 28th... the june 8-11th catch-up session suddenly had 452 page views on june 9th, 314 on june 10th (the 24 hour captcha hell slow down), and so far 395 page views for june 11th... i believe the dates start around 7pm my time and go for 24 hours and the month table updates after 7pm so i won't know june 12th stats until tomorrow... this is well above the approximately 100 page view average per day that had been maintained for a while... the vampires (vampirestat... not recommended*) are leading the way in page views sending today and 963 for the month and 1807 all time, though different stat pages have different numbers (these are the highest)... since there are almost 47,000 page views all time, they are still just a fraction and only recently have they (the vampires) increased so much... my site is second with 1035 and google is third with 685... so i have no clue where the other tens of thousands of page views and referral sites came from... google blogger stats remain largely a mystery...

still love numbers, but wish google's numbers would make more sense :)

*PS... take this good advice if you are finding lots of visitors from specific sites you don't know to your blog(s)... here is google's take on it...

it's happening again

the stat monsters are back (zombies and vampires and werewolves oh my) and uglies too (i will not link them because they appear to serve no good purpose, but mock them i shall)... maybe my russian girlfriend is back too... of course if i ever have access to a list of entries that were visited most (say a top 100, since there are over 4,000, these stat monsters will skew those results rather incoherently as they are much more dependent on timing than on worth or quality of an entry so the stats relation with quality is minimal, especially when considering which are the top entries of all time, but that's another blog entry...

and once again (with one or two editions), here's wacko warner with his rendition of the countries of the blog visits (loosely based on his emmy and grammy winning performance of the nations of the world, or something like that)... they tell me you wonderful people come from Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Columbia, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Ukraine, United Kingdom, US, and Vietnam...

remember when i asked do you ever wonder?... well, ups downs make the world go around, especially when people will believe most anything, ya know?...

who's out there (stats report)

who knows, aye?... secrets? (what secrets?... read on, conspiracy lovers)... all i can tell you is what google stats tell me, which is not much, at least not much in terms of specifics or even if there are real people behind the page view numbers, but here we go reviewing the stats once again as we add april 2013 to the page views chart...

the stats do tell us where the page views come from...

April 2013

Germany
Russia
US
Romania
UK
Turkey
Ukraine
France
Poland
China
(3695)

1553
875
771
149
29
28
21
9
9
7
on our left we have the number of visits (or page views) by country for last month which shows a sudden rise from Germany with a decline from the U.S. (and the appearance of Turkey) which might have some meaning if there was more info in the stats, but as it is all we can do is say hi germany (and turkey) and thanks for stopping by :)

i still enjoy letting my imagination to visit your countries and create all sorts of scenarios where we are friends or colleagues or have some seriously meaningful and/or important earth shattering reason for communicating (maybe i watch too much sci-fi?)... thanks for providing that fun too :)

top ten countries most represented this week (descending order): Germany, United States, Russia, Romania, Turkey, Poland, United Kingdom, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Canada...

top ten most represented since this blog began (descending): United States, Russia, Romania, Germany, United Kingdom, Netherlands, France, Ukraine, Canada, Latvia...

and all the countries i've found on the lists over the course of this blog (in alphabetical order): Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Columbia, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, US, and Vietnam...

oh, what?... we want actual numbers now?... well, it might not happen (as usual) cuz after all, it takes time to gather and sort through all this vital national security information and homeland has been tightening up on the release of details for a few decades now as the paranoia scale reaches past agent orange, so it you are wondering why you are reading this, well, now you may know... hey, some total stranger recently posted something cryptic in arabic on my facebook, so you just can't be too careful, ya know?... ah, for the good old days when we felt so safe on myspace, aye?... no worries though, no fbi or cia or nsa or alphabet soup was harmed in the making of this entry...

but just to give you a taste of the critical nature of the rabid radicalization of the intelligence community, this vital secret entry moved up from eleventh most viewed entry to eighth most viewed entry since the last time this sort of stat report was put together (probably about four or five months ago... i know, i've been slacking, secret missions and all) and it really needs your help to rise into the top five all-time... so don't just sit there, click now and click often (and even more importantly amazing, while you are there, click on all the stuff linked in that magical mystery entry, aye?)... seriously, the fate of the top ten (and the world) is in your hands...

stats update

yeah so this is what the stats tell me (whatever that is, that is, whatever can be interpolated from the numbers)... my own page visits are no longer counted (since the start of this month) and that change shows in the lower US weekly number and it should reduce the US monthly number by 20% or more by next month... still...

past 24 hours past week past month
US 27 Russia 212 US 830
Russia 23 US 110 Russia 489
Romania    10 Romania 62 Romania 199
UK 4 UK 15 UK 63
Germany 7 Germany 53
Netherlands    3 Canada 17
China 1 Indonesia    11
Spain 1 France 9
France 1 China 8
Ireland 1 India 5

so what do we see?... stat geeks and internet referral experts are very welcome to jump in here... what i see based on what i know is that i am definitively aware of one regular reader and one occasional reader from outside of the usa and all the other page visits are a mystery... not that i am asking for identification cards or anything, silent readers are very welcome too, but it is puzzling to me that page visits to this blog have increased so substantially in the past three months... page visits prior to june, 2012, were averaging maybe 10 per day... since late june 2012 page visits are over 60 per day... so what may account for the over 600% increase?... this is open to speculation...

anyway, thanks for visiting - i will keep the light on :)

narfenstein

so why didn't this entry get a gazillion visits, or at least more than the others, since it stood out there in the wind as the front and center entry almost 24 hours and some of the other entries that have higher stats were just blips in the time line... and if google searches were the first referral source i might accept the words being the difference but some spam ad page is the leading source and even then no single page is more than 5% of the referral sources so, go figure, or don't cuz figuring requires some numbers that follow some logical pattern and the google stats sure don't...

but i will still hope this entry gets lots of visits that lead to visits to all the pages linked in the entry i am referring you to and now i am wondering if you go there from here is the stat even counted... ah, the foibles of faulty record keeping, not to mention ignorance of how it is done, so much to amuse me tonight inside my head...

what i was doing

is studying football statistics... see, tonight we have a fantasy football draft and it's been years since i followed football stats closely and fantasy football is based on stats so... today i will drive myself stat-crazy... a short break for some food, humus, carrots, a salad with an egg and some turkey... and chocolate milk...

now, back to fantasy football...

stat ta ta tat

the zombies are back... and the watchdogs (probably werewolves in disguise) and vampires and villains and the uglies too... and one blog theme site... i have decided not to link them because they do not appear to serve any logical or helpful purpose and may even, according to some reports, present a threat... yes, a lot of visitors are those weird wild wacky undead... and also Ukrainians - welcome back my Ukrainian friend(s)... you've topped the visits chart today :)

hopefully Ukrainians with a good sense of humor, aye?...

but seriously, in the past day or two, you wonderful Ukrainians have joined Romanians and Russians as most frequent visitors outside of the US... you are all wonderful... maybe it's my irreverence... or maybe my russian girlfriend moved...

of course i refer to the stats, those google reports that amuses us with numbers... they tell me you wonderful people come from Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Columbia, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Ukraine, United Kingdom, US, and Vietnam...

do you ever wonder?... ... ... maybe this will explain it all...

Saturday, January 31, 2015

hello ukraine!

i suppose i could have said good morning, in a robinesque style, but this entry was started last night so it is only now that the thought comes to be interjected into this as it is... anyway, exploding numbers arrive from far away... page views, that is... more than 2500 page views in the past few days from the ukraine... must have a ukrainian girlfiend now too... another secret admirer just can't get enough of me... it's a wonderful thing, you know... such popularity... such devotion... such randomness... what?... massive amounts (copius, even) of visits from the ukraine aside, random thoughts (like is tumbler forgotten or what?) fill the cranial capacitors at the moment so perhaps that energy influxing from whatever or whomever is kicking up the stats for this blog is infiltrating the hypothalmus and inciting a riot of sorts in the creative juice machine between the ears of the head in which the consciousness i loosely call me resides, at least for the moment... i mean, what it we looked up the word atheist in this blog, or random, truth, or sex (pickle?), for that matter... would it teach us anything about the price of rice in china (or the price of china in bangladesh, for that matter... can you buy china in bangladesh?... do they still need a benefit concert?... how far behind the times are we, not watching the news and all, anyway?... do we really want to know?... don't be sad, be happy, no worries, ya know?)... stat stats?...

words, like everything else, are relative... like the difference between strange and stranger (not withstanding strangest), for instance... diverging paths along semantic lines are one of the favorite amusements we will find here in these rambles, as if you didn't know (why do you think you keep coming back?... oh, wait, it's because you love me, right?... thanks, i love you too, but wouldn't ya rather be irreverent (irreverence?... seriously?... i mean, serious irreverence or irreverent seriousness?... semantics matter, after all... serious) sometimes?... if only to keep the lonelies at bay... this could continue indefinitely but we have an appointment with destiny that we have been putting off for a lifetime, so take care and thanks for all the fish, or something like that... i mean, mila and milla are otherwise occupied at the moment, so stay calm and carry on and above all else, don't panic... it's only life, after all... or numbers, maybe i mean numbers... or music, for that matter... what matters is we are here now...

your attention span, long or short, is appreciated...

narf :)

who are we?

and are we communicating?... well, i am sending words out to you and you are reading them and every now and then one or a few of you communicate with me through comment or other means, but the stats tell me this blog might reach 2000 page views this month... 2000?... yes, 2000 page views... the odd stat is 3 comments... yes, 2000 page views and 3 comments... isn't that odd?... i mean, it makes me wonder if the page views are accurate or if they reflect actual people visiting or some web robots visiting... the top 4 referring urls account for 234 page views and the top 10 referring pages account for 307 views, so the vast majority come from pages that referred less than 7 views (which would mean something like 270 different sites sent readers here, roughly... who are these sites and how are they finding me?)... which leads me to the question - who are we and why are we meeting here like this? :)

meanwhile, so i have it recorded here for posterity, the medal count for the first day is in and the usa is third (though tied in total count for second)... china was the big winner with 4 golds (6 total) and italy second with 2 golds and 2 silvers (5 total)... the usa had 5 total, 1 gold, 2 solvers, 2 bronzes... see the rest and compare countries 2012 olympics medal counts with the full count here... and right over there on the right is - ta da - a medal count widget... there's an olympics news widget on the page where i got the medal count widget and a couple of other widgets too if you are a little bit geekish like me and like the olympics... shhhh, it's the stats that draw me in most :)

for the record and posterity and all that, some time after the olympics that medal count widget will be gone, so if you are reading this some time after the 2012 olympics and asked "what medal count widget?" while reading the previous paragraph, well, it was a temporary olympics stats thing, so never mind (nyuk nyuk, ya know?)...

so anyway, returning to the blogging world here, what's with these blogger stats anyway?... 2000 page views and 3 comments?... ok, so we've long known most of you stop in for a moment and have nothing to say which is perfectly fine - i just hope you felt your time here was worth your time here, ya know?... but even more odd and puzzling, 2000 page views with 10 sites sending about 16% of readers and the other 84% of readers coming from more than 270 other sites?... please explain :)

fun with numbers, everybody should have some :)

when reason fails, delusion saves the day

with all due reverence to my russian girlfriend, my fading mila, heart-felt pleas for love and/or sanity, and the sidebar clues (not to mention the guide for hitchhikers and other aliens or even the random bloobs from ancient and modern blog family {and anyone else paying attention and not just to the right sidebar}, but we digress), in some frenzy of statistical madness, this oddly interesting stat (not to be confused with it's part two counterpart or even conducting a search through up the multitude of entries in this blog for the word oddly... or secret or secrets {where eerie music will play rather magically, or something like that}, for that matter) has more than 400 page views in this month alone (and the month is only two thirds passed) and that makes it (oddly) the most visited entry in the history of the more than 5,000 entries (i did mention multitude, if you recall) in this blog, which makes absolutely no sense to me at all at this time, but it is as it is and statistical anomalies are what make the world go round... love too, but numbers can be infinitely less volatile... oddly, even...

so anyway, perhaps even naturally, i added (and continue adding) random carefully considered linkage to the entry (and many entries, for that matter) just in case the statistical volume attracts the one or anyone with some modicum of brilliance and a sense of humor who might want to step into the maze and roam around aimlessly with me (or without me) for a while... life can be so much less lonely that way, even if it's all mostly imaginary... we all have our delusions (not to mention secrets aye?), after all...

like maybe i will link to something meaningful related to the title someday...

from russia with curiosity

so russia is back... a hundred page views from russia in the past two days... imagine, using this blog as a way to learn the english language... better than random babble i suppose... but before we go assuming it's my russia girlfriend with renewed internet access (oh, was she let out of the asylum again?... at least the meteor didn't get her), i shall thank all of my friends (and the curious among you) over there for caring and stopping by and jiggling the stat sheet... someday we'll all understand (especially if we follow all the links, aye?)... it is good to imagine friends everywhere even when there's just one or two in each everywhere i imagine... especially good to know my russian friends have wonderfully flexible senses of humor too :)

hot steamy showers are such sweet luxuries... i read somewhere that there are more saunas in finland than there are people, or was that more saunas than houses... in any case, no nearby sauna so the hot steamy shower works for me... good for the arm too, which continues to nag and concern, but i just continue to give it time... happiness is comfortably sprawled out in the middle of the living room waiting for his next meal or his next walk... jackson is out working way harder than we'd like, but that's the profession she chose... and me, well, here i am tapping out a few words for you... all of you, i mean, you're not all russian... heck, you're not all even my girlfriends, ya know... yes, i am feeling a bit on the silly side today... sleep will do that :)

hello out there :)

the tv

when the tv is on, it is often in the background during a meal or while i am writing or working or browsing the net... when i glance up and it's a commercial, whatever was on often loses me and i look for another show that isn't being interrupted... when i am watching, a commercial is time to browse the other channels... a commercial of more than 30 seconds and i am likely gone... a commercial of more than a minute and i am long gone into whatever else i found... tv is so devoid of anything really interesting most of the time... though now and then i catch up with pop science and learn a thing or two... sports destroys itself with commercials and i seldom watch, though i may dvr at times and the end of a good game might get my attention if it is not too overloaded by commercials... it is not that i am a pure existentialist, but the pathetic consumerism in our culture is a cancer to a meaningful life and i try to avoid the addiction corporations and politicians would like us all to suffer from (so we don't see the corruption, cruelty, and destruction they do)... it's the modern opiate for the masses, buying stuff... i do watch some, but even the favs are background these days...

meanwhile, i think the linx need a new coach, i mean, not that i know anything about the current coach or the wbna except a few names and players i watched in college, but my first impression watching her childishly taunt a referee enough to get a stupid technical foul just as her team cut what was a huge lead to four points left a lasting poor taste in my mouth... watching her players, they don't look prepared well... whether this is a too early judgment based on the childish move that hurt her team or an accurate assessment based on the evidence, i feel sad for maya moore and the rest of her team... and that's my random wnba commentary for the moment... i'll add as a post script that the wnba needs to improve the stats they have on their website for the stat geeks among us, i mean, how else are we to get the number freaks more into the game?... market to everyone, that way maybe you can stop wearing coproate logos on your jerseys, i mean, what are you, nascar?...

semi-useless stats

i could include graphics like the one to the left that shows the browsers chosen by visitors over the (top to bottom) past week, past month, and all six years of this blog's life and other stats, but then, what does it mean beyond the visitors (humans or bots or spiders or aliens) have the sense to use the microsoft browser less and less over the years and that's not exactly meaningful information to begin with given the limited subject pool in this abject experiment loosely run by the google stat programs and not too well at that... i would love to know who visits and when and why (it's the why that matters most to me) and what each visitor thinks of that i put here (and everywhere) which is another reason i look at the stats google blogger provides even though they do not offer any real insight because they are so unreliable (from my perspective, at least), so just in case you are not a robot or a spider or any other anthromoric representation of a none human visitor, feel free to satisfy my curiosity and share something about the why (and anything else) in the comments...

cuz comments are happy pills, remember? :)

better than bad

softball, that is... well, five or six key (at least) errors gave up about ten or eleven runs (at least) and we lost the second game (semi-finals) somewhere in the neighborhood of 14-9... we had beaten that team earlier in the year and they will likely finish second and we beat the two other teams in the playoffs and didn't face the #1 one loss team in the playoffs (five teams total in the league), so we finish third which is where we fit into this league cuz the two teams in 1st and 2nd have better hitting and fielding and the two teams in 4th and 5th are about the same as we are (they both beat us during the season and finished the regular season 3rd and 4th with 4-4 and 3-5 records, respectively... we finished the regular season at 2-6, but beat them both in the playoffs making it to the loser's bracket final {two game elimination tournament}, which is when the playing and wins and loses count more, for us at least)...

i don't know if the link is accessible or how long it will be up there (with apologies to posterity), but here are the league standings for future reference and in case you are a stat geek like me, or just care and have time to look and wanna know...

on the personal side (since this is my blog), i batter 9th in the first game and 10th ion the second game... 2 for 2 with a walk in the first game, scoring twice and knocking in a few rbi... 1 for 3 in the second game, flying out the right center twice (the second one the right center fielder made a great running catch on), so while i am not satisfied, i am more ok with it cuz after all, beating myself up about not being perfect happened earlier this week and once a week is enough... so much for the magnificence flagellation of snarky malarky, aye?... what?...

throwing narfetti :)

curious following

so the ups and downs of life and titles seem to have influenced the stats overnight as of the five entries, the first received 7 views while the second received 2 views while the third received 7 views while the fourth received 2 views while the fifth received 9 views... is it the title itself that influenced the stats (inferring some sort of literate robot or brilliant stat player) or is the time between entries the prime influence (further more precise experiments may happen, even)... anyway, interesting curious stats following the past night's entries...

and how are you today? :)

oddly interesting stat

i have no clue why you came here, but odds are... neither do you :)

here!... here!... ye too!... this one is on repeat, so click and see why why?

what?... so for some reason, while i slept, filling in the blanks was visited 10 times... the entries average 3-6 visits recently since the robots stopped visiting (must talk to bender about that cuz the average was 12-15 when they were fans), typically, was it the title?... the mention of syfy or the specific shows mentioned? (let's see, continuum, being human, lost girl, ncis, criminal minds, bones was what i watched, or at least had on in the background, yesterday... who knows)... anyway, welcome whomever or whatever you may be... do you love music too?... listen with me while you read and even better share what moves you and tell me what you think and feel :)

ah, life, the omniverse, and almost everything, aye?... it's all as superficial as we wanna be... but then the fact is (if you know) miracles can happen when truth and hope are the foundations of your faith... yeah...

the US, Germany, Romania, Russia, and the UK were the places visitors came from overnight (in that order of frequency)... isn't teleportation wonderful?... or time travel, even... not to mention moments of brilliance... anyway, yesterday Ukraine, China, Hong Kong, Canada, and France visited in addition to the other five countries... Ireland and Malaysia were around this week and month as well... Israel, Bali, Sweden, Iran, Japan, Latvia, Greece, Poland, Australia, Egypt, New Zealand, Italy, Columbia, and Azerbaijan too, perhaps... never can tell who might pop up next... others were too, but the stats only provide the top ten in number of visits... i wonder if Mila was here lol lam narf? :)

sometimes stats are oddly interesting and life is just silly, ya know? :)

quite the experiment

says the egocentric part of the brain that clings to delusions of grandeur and other such human games (and/or foibles) as i appear hell-bent on continuing the acceleration of entries per day here in (e)thereal and the wondering for the moment is whether i will find an overall increase or decrease in page views and readers (two very different statistics i am learning) when the dust finally settles and i return to am less frenetic pace... the past month has set new records, while the past few days has started settling back to a more expected page-view-per-entry stat...

for the lover of number in me, playing with statistical data is fun so even though google stats are inconsistent and mostly illogical (hence, not reliable), it's still fun to play with the numbers (and ego can imagine those grand delusions too)... what else is there to do for the long nights alone, after all?... ok, i know of several other things to do and i do them too, but there is time for numbers fun as well...

living within one's mind is also quite the experiment and so far after a reasonable lifetime of doing it i am leaning toward two conclusions... it is a lonely life and it is not very viable for financial success without a great deal of luck, a multitude of fan support, and quite possibly some radical ideas... consider arthur dent, for instance, and while you are, i hope you are sharing something somewhere somehow too...

visitor update

while i was fast asleep hoping the night would bring beautiful rest and peace and the kids (as in the animals we live with) were plotting to keep me awake all night, i remembered a time when i used to record the places you came from to visit this blog... and while mostly you wonderful people come from the same places (especially the imaginary ones), my popularity seems to have increase in Malaysia this month and in recent months... here is the latest monthly stat visitor report for the past month:

United States, 757
Malaysia, 153
Russia, 151
Romania, 122
Germany, 94

Catch up (and know more)

musical distractions

If people had visible signs or meters that told something about them, what would you want it to tell you?

dumb poll (above), smart responders

all the previous poll votes were somehow erased, so, nevermind... ironically or coincidentally or whatever, the results were very close in practical numbers to the results above shown with just three votes, if you understand the mathematics behind that extrapolative reasoning... i will probably remove the poll at some point... it is a ridiculously useless feature...

SEARCH ME

the thing is, with my tendency to babble and meander and whine and allow distraction to take the lead more often than not, even in this blog that sort of meant to merge brevity with focus like some bloggers do, searching for key words does not always lead to specific information about the subject of that key word... but... here is a start at an easy way to search for key words in this blog... use the search box at the top of the blog to search for words not listed here... if ya wanna, that is... and feel free to suggest words to add to this search shortcut section... click on the words below :)
