we get home, me first as we were driving two cars, and the lights are out... i mean, the whole street and community, lights out... the electronic gate is not working, but either by design or maintenance action, the exit gate is open and remained open so it was just a matter of not hitting others walking or driving in the dark... the power company said they were investigating the trouble when i called and hoped to have the lights on again in a few hours...
the dark did not dispel our excitement to find out new softball bags at our door, delivered while we were at the fields... we opened the box like it was christmas and shined flashlights on our new bags... jackson has the blue on blue bag and i have the blue on black back, so we can tell the difference easier... we can hardly wait for the lights to go on so we can explore all the pockets and zippers and ties and stuff on the bags...
but being there was no electricity, after changing in the dark (though we do have emergency lighting contingencies like flashlights near the door and candles cuz this is florida, after all, so it was not actually completely dark in the apartment), we went out for food and to pick up another few lighting contingencies and stuff...
just a plain old wonderful day :)
