softball fun, lower division

we did not play our best game, but we played against a lower division team and they swung at a lot of high pitches so they only scored two runs (and those were on errors) and though it took us 6 innings (and we left at least fourteen runners on base), we won 12-2 and hopefully we will hit better and make fewer errors next game... as for me, i hit four ground balls, two of them clean hits, one loaded the bases on an error, and one grounded out with bases loaded... still, i had no lift on the ball and could hit much better... i let two balls through the middle that i should have grabbed, but caught a pop up and threw out a few runners so technically made no errors... i struck out a couple and walked none... all in all, a good game, but we all could have (and usually do) play better... thing is, in this lower division, we might not have much competition... but then again, we only saw one team so far so who knows...

five games, five weeks, five different opponents... two asa umpires with a 6-10 foot strike zone, so pitching matters a lot... they walked us a lot... and we are pplaying on newly leveled fields, which should help us once we shake off the rust... and that's the summer league... should be four more weeks of softball fun...

best of all, jackson is playing with us this season :)
