running joke

what running joke?... a joke about running?... ah, not likely, though it is a reasonable semantic statements... more likely, however, the running joke is a joke that continues through a conversation or performance or story or something (a blog, even) and while announcing and introducing the running joke may not be the usual action a writer or storyteller or performer or someone (a blogger, even) might take (unless they write for monty python, i suppose... or maybe carol burnett, but more likely monty python or an equivolently irreverent purveyor or words, stories, performances, or something... or the onion, for that matter), there is also the possibility that a running joke could be a blog that sometimes combines running and politics, which could be a joke, but that's beside the point... you see, or you might, contrary to the obvious evidence that there are also jokes about running late, running away, running slow, running for office, running out of gas, and other stuff, this might not be about any of that... getting to the point, finally, this is the unexpected announcement and introduction of the following running joke in this blog (feel free to imagine fanfare and a cascading drumroll leading up to a symbolic (and cymballic crescendo, or whatever excites you most)...

must be my irreverence... or my russian girlfriend...

meanwhile, off on another tangent, i must consider admitting to the distinct possibility that i may be overdoing it a bit this weekend which will be the subject a future entry, especially if i do it...
