fore telling, past telling

as i begin relating in a previous entry, i must consider admitting to the distinct probability that i overdid it a bit these past three days during which i was on my feet for more than six hours each day (rought estimate, it may have been a lot more) and played two practice games and two actual games and also took 120 swings at the batting cages and pitched a couple of hundred batting practice pitches, among other standing and walking activities... i was not feeling much pain and not concerned about injury until the last game a few hours ago when i was needed to be the pitcher because the team was short players because two players notified the team manager (jackson) that they would not be able to make it just two hours before game time and the scramble for fill-in players only netted one... the obstacle for me was the field, which had two inch deep mud puddles all around the infield in front of and around the pitcher's mound and after feeling very unsupporting trying to not move too quickly through the mud to back up infielders on errant throws, i two a few sudden stems and found a deep slippery mud puddle and ouch... it does not appear to be serious damage, but it definitely did not feel good and had me limping the rest of the game and after the game and after sitting with my foot elevated for a few hours, it is just a little painful and tincgly now... the splash of mud in my face and a few times in my eyes was not fun either and for one inning i pitched and hit with one eye closed until i could get to water to rince it out... still stings a little... and we lost that game, which does not help the feeling, ya know... ok, gripe time is over, i am content again...
