there is no summer vacation

alas, except for teachers and some government workers, there is no summer vacation after we move from school years into working years and the allusions to it in the past couple of entries brought some sadness as i remember the joy and relaxation and fun of summer vacation... although i have had a whole lot more summer vacations and long vacations in this life than the average worker as i was a government worker for 12 years and took five weeks off every summer to play at disneyworld and other places and then i didn't work for most of a decade after that and then, after a second career decade of almost no time off, i took a year and a half off to make up for the lack of summer vacations (or vacations in general) and now, back to a 24/7 tied to the phone job, i lament a bit, but have wonderful memories of lots of time away from work including many summer vacations... so at this moment we refer to an imaginary summer vacation during the fleeting moments between being at work (or handling work on the phone)...

on a relatively different subject, sort of, i seem to eat a lot more when i work 24/7 and combining that with the fact that i exercise less when i work 24/7 so as if the equation was not obvious, i tend to gain weight when i work 24/7... extrapolating logically, i summer vacations and extended time away from work is much healthier and better for life than working... it's just another obvious suicidal tendency (and choice) humans make and force other humans into pretty much from birth... so whether you are laughing or crying at the logic of the message, the work ethic is child abuse...

meanwhile, to avoid depression, there is food and all sorts of poisonous mind-altering substances, alcohol being the all-time human favorite... yup, consuming poisons to distract and avoid and ignore and pretend we can escape from the suicidal worth ethic is the human way... such a stupid species, after all...
