fun and games and a sick dog

a few games of chess, a few games of ruzzle, a walk with happiness, and still he threw up... jackson woke to step into a puddle of puke this morning, which were her precise words... he was out several times this evening and pooped and peed and just had a very loose stool a half hour ago and still, pukes on the carpet waiting to be cleaned... of course i should be sleeping, but the poor old dog is ill and begging for walks and comfort so how can i sleep... ah, the empathy drains the energy once again... perhaps that is why i sensed a hunger for s liter of mountain dew earlier... stupid late night tv is on now... macho crap... and the remote is not within reach, alas... so happiness gets to go out yet again after midnight because i am not gonna get up to get the remote and not take him out... and clean the carpet... sigh, why is today not friday?... wait, it is... i meant why is tonight not friday already... yeah, life is like this sometimes...

so out we go for a slow stop and go twenty minute walk and he sniffs in depth every few feet and maybe he grabbed something he shouldn't have but i was watching like a hawk and no poop, but he puked two steps past the door on the way back in... what timing... so i get out the pepto bismol and he acts like i am poisoning him as i pour a little on his tongue and he goes and drinks some more, which is potentially a dark foreboding of further puking to come... poor old bugger, he is eating fine, but puking the past two nights and diarrhea and not sleeping... every time he gets sick now that he's old i wonder if this is the end, but it's a fighter and still acts more like a puppy than an old dog most of the time... more interesting (or is that egocentric) babble here...

he can't get comfortable tonight... a whole lotta pacing going on...
