yankees game

well, the yankee pitcher phelps blew the game by losing his control, walking the go ahead run to start the inning and falling behind most batters in the 12th inning... even making a foolish attempt at a bare handed play that let in another run... i guess they left him in because they didn't have anybody else in the bullpen, though chamberlain was still available, so poor managing from my perspective... and why not sacrifice a lead off man on base?... everything does not have to be a home run and rarely does a team win the world series when they are not balanced - even the yankees... especially when their power hitting is so mostly dead... makes no sense... i don't watch enough baseball throughout the season to know if this is his pattern, but he definitely does not play any small ball from what i've seen so far in the playoffs... poor managing loses more games than anything else...

over-working jeter may be weak managing too... that looked very bad, the way his ankle moved... they gave this game away and let detroit bpumped up and with the big momentum in this series after almost kocking them out in the ninth inning... anyway, whatever happens happens :)
