meanwhile, the evening before the fb comments

wandering around the library was fun and nostalgic and bettersweet memories and wonderful memories and fun... except for finding out that i owed $50 on my library card for the stuff i returned late and did not return the last time i was at the library... yeah, it's been a couple of years... alas, i could have used that money... bad timing... yuck yuck yuck... but the library was fun anyway... wandered everywhere and took out a 30 disk book on cd, yes, 30 disks... stephen king's 11/22/63... yeah, it would be king... and yeah, i did not want to exercise my eyes (or find the time) to actually read (as much as i love the experience, the loneliness of the day must have influenced the decision and i'd rather be out with the chance to meet people listening to a book rather than sitting and reading... then again, i could be out reading a book and that might create conversation even faster than listening... and i don't like headphones... maybe i didn't think this through... the novelty of a 30 disk audio book?... not wanting to test the eyes that are inching their way toward needing reading glasses sometimes when i am tired?... reading the internet is no problem, but the screen on my cellphone is sometimes when i am tired and have bleary eyes... what, you want clarity of thinking today?... not likely...

meanwhile, i met with a critical thinkers group starting up a branch of the freedom from religion foundation and as usual when i sit with a bunch of atheists, i wonder why atheists do not see that most of them are as fervent about atheism as religious people are about religion... moreso, sometimes... but the organizer sounds more political than anti-religious and focused on the legal issues of separation of church and state... i am all for separation of church and state... the oppression of religious governments is exactly why the usa was founded and why the first amendment was so clear about separating the power of religion from the power of government so no religious group could bully or oppress or try to eliminate another in the usa as was (and still is) the case throughout history in this world... some interesting people to talk to...

and after we went to Cafe Annie which was an hour away from closing and were not sure what to do with about two dozen people ready to eat, but they handled us well so kudos to the staff and cook... the food was fresh and good, though downtown prices made it not worth it... $13 for a medium falafel (that was a bit dry, though i love sauces and condiments in my food so it could be taste), salad, and a drink... as i said, fresh food, but better falafels can be had for half the price in the burbs... but before i rate the place i will give it another try (though that may not be anytime soon as i am not eating out much and i'm not running back there)...

good conversation made it much better... now if i only had the $ to eat out more often, social life would be much easier to find... there is a group of some sort, most purely social), i can find out there just about every night... silly money-driven world distracts from what really matters, but then, that's the way people want it... no wonder i don't fit in, aye?...

still, something must turn me on :}

Catch up (and know more)

musical distractions

If people had visible signs or meters that told something about them, what would you want it to tell you?

dumb poll (above), smart responders

all the previous poll votes were somehow erased, so, nevermind... ironically or coincidentally or whatever, the results were very close in practical numbers to the results above shown with just three votes, if you understand the mathematics behind that extrapolative reasoning... i will probably remove the poll at some point... it is a ridiculously useless feature...

SEARCH ME

the thing is, with my tendency to babble and meander and whine and allow distraction to take the lead more often than not, even in this blog that sort of meant to merge brevity with focus like some bloggers do, searching for key words does not always lead to specific information about the subject of that key word... but... here is a start at an easy way to search for key words in this blog... use the search box at the top of the blog to search for words not listed here... if ya wanna, that is... and feel free to suggest words to add to this search shortcut section... click on the words below :)
