mandatory tests

yes, the working world demands the drug tests so i went to the required place, not just any medical facility, and after waiting for twenty minutes or so and noting that the clinic sold juice, soda, water, and bags of chips and popcorn at high prices (the great american diet and commercial gouging), was called to the back treatment area and there i dutifully peed into a cup and handed the evidence to the nurse who measured off vials, sealed them, twice, no less, labelled them, placed them in a zip lock bag, sealed that, labelled that, and said thank you as she handed me signed papers proving i did what i did and she did what she did... she did not remark about how orange-yellow the urine was as many do at these encounters, so i did not explain my daily vitamin b and c and so on...

next she stuck the ppd needle in my arm, producing more blood than it ought to have because so many nurses are not so good at ppd tests and i am to return after 48 hours (but not longer than 72) for a reading to clear me from having tuberculosis...

and then i headed to the police station...
