batting cages

somewhere during the afternoon i found myself at the batting cages where i chatted with the owner who had three stints put in his chest after a recent heart attack and the doctor's told him it was his second heart attack and he didn't even know he had a first one so his wife was calling him every half hour or so and telling him to rest and she's call 911 if he didn't pick up the phone and hopefully he will be ok cuz he's a nice guy... he remembered me and found my card in his file box and i had six tokens left so i used those six and bought a new card to keep on file cuz i will be back regularly now that softball season started up in all my leagues and my foot is good enough to let me play...

120 sings later (and two gatorades, it was hot out there), i was tired but feeling really good... maybe i won'y hit as well later as my arms and core is tired, but the workout was definitely needed and i must do it more often... most of the time i was hitting the ball well and where i wanted to hit it, better than 70% clean hits... good to hear the guy call out "you still got it" after my first 40 swings which was more like 90% hits as he knew i hurt my ankle/foot and missed seeing me (and my money) out there each week...

the positive day continues as i head to the fields...
