it probably happens in other states too, but something unique to florida and a few other hot states is the bug population, insects, that is... and every not and then we are witness to one of those natural miracles, the birth of the bugs, often in floods of teeny tiny creepy crawlers scurrying about almost randomly for cover... there may be no better example of such frantic movement is the birth of spiders...
except when it happens in the dashboard of a car you are driving...
yup, spiders, teeny tiny mini-spiders, poured out of the cracks of the dashboard and scurried all along the doors and center panel and wherever they wanted to go (cuz how does one stop a flood of mini-spiders while driving, after all)... jackson and i did not freak out and i did not get into an accident (imagine explaining... we're sorry officer, i did lose control of the car, but it was the spiders), but i did drive a whole lot more than i would have liked to because i drive jackson home from lunch and then drove to the enterprise car rental office which about fifteen minutes away only to find it closed so i drove back home (with my many mini-passengers currying about) and on the way called enterprise and they connected me to roadside assistance and they laughed (well, it is funny from a safe distance outside of the car), but they sent a tow truck with a replacement car (a 2014 altima, sweet) and the tow truck driver was very thankful that i backed into a spot so he did not have to get in the car cuz, as he said, "i catch snakes and gators without a second thought, but i don't do spiders, then took the 2013 vw jetta wagon away along with it's tiny passengers...
maybe i'll get a bit of a discount for my inconvenience (the nice woman on the phone said i should tell my local rental office and they should give me some compensation, but who knows since they are, i believe, franchises)... it was an exciting (albeit annoying) experience that consumed much of my only day off this week, so yeah, inconvenience, that's the ticket... the altima is a sweet ride though, but don't tell them until after the discount, right?...
narf :)

musical distractions
If people had visible signs or meters that told something about them, what would you want it to tell you?
dumb poll (above), smart responders
all the previous poll votes were somehow erased, so, nevermind... ironically or coincidentally or whatever, the results were very close in practical numbers to the results above shown with just three votes, if you understand the mathematics behind that extrapolative reasoning... i will probably remove the poll at some point... it is a ridiculously useless feature...
SEARCH ME
the thing is, with my tendency to babble and meander and whine and allow distraction to take the lead more often than not, even in this blog that sort of meant to merge brevity with focus like some bloggers do, searching for key words does not always lead to specific information about the subject of that key word... but... here is a start at an easy way to search for key words in this blog... use the search box at the top of the blog to search for words not listed here... if ya wanna, that is... and feel free to suggest words to add to this search shortcut section... click on the words below :)
