waking happiness

our old puppy (he's going on 14 so he's getting there, but shhh, we still see the puppy he wants to be as he bounces around most of the time) is quite lethargic this weekend and has been eating less this week... he's dealing with some old age stuff like bleeding from his penis, likely caused by the bladder stones he has, but could be who knows what... anyway, i woke him to encourage him to eat since he has not eaten all day and usually throws up bile when he does not eat... so i cuddled with him to remind him how loved he is and comforted him for his lethargy and anything that might be hurting and then nudged a treat into his mouth and he licked me and licked the treat and then ate the treat and i gave him one chunk of his food and he ate that and then i put a treat into his food bowl on top of his food and he sniffed and looked and me and sniffed again and then ate the treat and then ate the food and drank a little water and now he's laying out on the porch cuz he loves to be outdoors so much so i might sleep on the couch with the door open so he can have the fresh air...

it's 74 degrees with a "realfeel" of 82 degrees so the air conditioner will need to go off for a bit and kick in harder in the morning (the wallet is speaking to me, it's gotta do it's job, and i sometimes ignore it)... but happiness is smiling and reminding me of what really matters in this life, and how temporary the whole experience really is... sigh and alas and all that emo... and love, so much lots of cuddling licking love...
