heave hop

solid line drive hit to right on my last at bat scored a runner from third, but my first three trips to the plate were mediocre ground balls and i only got on base one time on a fielder's choice, but the fourth hit felt great... we won 17-10 after giving up eight runs in the last inning... i made a few good plays at second, fielded everything in front of me, but could not get to two pop ups behind me in shallow right... my weakness, pop ups... these two would have been great plays though, they were at least fifteen feet behind me and not too high... one line drive might have been caught if i laid out and dove for it, but it's been years since i did that and the rust might crack (chicken, am i?... well, it's just my second game playing second base in... many years)...

picked up some short hoppers and fielded all the throws from the outfield and from short, so all in all, almost satisfied with my fielding and since the team hit well and won, i'll accept my hitting for the fatigue it was... must remember not to swing hard when i am this tired...

and home now, jackson is always in bed, wonder if she feels ok... i'll keep the tv off tonight cuz i don't have one in my room and her room is close to the living room... it's me and the internet and the words, perhaps like old times, maybe... we shall see...
