resting the arm

each week the arm recovers faster, but it still needs maximum stillness for a few hours after the pitching... i think (hope) i am ready for next week as i start pitching wednesday, twice on friday, and then at least once on sunday (the second sunday team seems to be getting along without me)... so after pigging out (see previous entry, of course), i laid back and watched college basketball and studied the ncaa tournament brackets and pulled out my slide rule and abacus and started calculating my picks... leaning towards ohio state to win it all, but then, i am only a few calculations into my calculations, so the genius isn't done yet...

and jackson and i played some words with friends (on the phone, she's not coming home tonight) and then, ridiculous as it seems, i craved the smoked nova salmon i bought impulsively... so i opened the onion rolls and cream cheese and sliced the tomato and and oh so yummy... hey, i didn't open the macaroni salad or cole slaw... i did drink more milk, skimmed, because the date on the gallon is 3/16... jackson does that a lot... she buys milk and apples and other perishables and then goes and stays away for days and the stuff spoils so i've taken to checking dates and consuming stuff... besides, she won't eat or drink anything after it's expiration date no matter how many times i tell her stuff is good at least a week after it's date and the date is an estimate and most stuff is fine and anyway, yum...

except for the big belly in my way, everything is beautiful :)
