after a couple of vegetative days (though i did go out to watch jackson's softball game last night), i headed out to test the charger and drive the car and then head to the post office and meet up with precious for dinner and shopping and the results are in, we all survived!... the car started with the charger - jump starter just fine... and driving it around the black (big block that includes a couple of miles on an interstate at 70mph) charged up the battery... and then i thought about getting a little responsible (pick up mail)... that's when precious called... i showered and we met for late lunch (she treated, can we spell p-r-o-u-d?) and then we went to barnes & noble to wander and savor some books (she bought two) and then she asked about upgrading her phone and we shopped... she has been working like crazy (three jobs, seven days a week) and saved and could afford an iPhone 4S and she'll pay for her phone bill each month... yeah, i am proud of her... did i mention she treated for lunch?...
so i'll keep paying for the basic phone plan cuz i would have to anyway and it's not that much more for the family plan and unlimited text (maybe $30 a month for each of us) but she'll pay for her data plan and phone line (about $50 a month)... saves her month as she builds a life... now if her dad pays for his line each month, i am only paying about $110 a month for the family plan with two lines, one with data... helps me stay in the world, navigate to destinations, check the web on the road, play games, and even keep in touch with people, at least when someone calls, ya know?...
it's been a wonderful day... and now, time for late dinner :)
