oh, read this one and happy new year while i complain about brighthouse again...
yup, the box is freezing and delays between the remote and the cable box make tonight a lot more irritating than it needs to be... brighthouse really ought to get their act together (even if tv is mostly background noise here)... you can find the annoying saga of poor brighthouse cable tv service <---- in that link and blog and the latest contact here as i received yet another comment from a brighthouse tech (and brighthouse does deserve kudos for having spiders or bots that search the internet to find references to brighthouse, but when they don't resolve problems, well, the kudos don't mean much)... yet another "tell me what the problem is" as if there aren't pages of reports from my many previous calls... and as i explained, i am not wasting any more time starting from scratch with the umpteenth tech unless they pay me for my time...
i keep the service for the occasional tv watching, but mostly for the internet as cable is still faster than the other alternatives... here is the latest test of speed for my service... you can test your connection speed here... here's an old comarison chart (2010) which still basically holds true... since fiber optic is not available in this area, cable has the clear speed advantage... here and here is more speed information ...
anyway, it seems that brighthouse equipment cannot keep up with the newer HD TVs because ever since i bought the new HDTV the cable boxes (we've switched out several) and service sucks (technical term, of course)...
