deep breath, continue

what frustrates you?... one of the things that frustrates me a lot is when someone repeatedly does the same thing and that thing negatively effects others and does not listen to advise or coaching to change that same mistake... so we tied our game 11-11 and should have won, but a few people just do not seem to understand what to do in softball and will not listen when the coaching to do the right thing is provided...

so the opposing pitcher was having a whole lot of trouble on the mound... he was walking a few betters an inning and would have walked a lot more if we were not swinging at very bad pitches (with poor results, which is a pitcher's dream)... and in the last inning, tied 11-11, i walked for the third time and that loaded the bases with just one out... and the next batter watched two balls that were nowhere near the plate go by, so he had a 3-1 count with bases loaded in the last inning with a pitcher who just threw at least 5 balls in a row and was having very major control problems... and i called out the batter's name and said 31, 3 and one, which is a reminder to take a pitch because the odds are very much in the batters favor and a walk sends in the go-ahead run... and he swung at ball four, a pitch he could barely reach, and it was an easy out at home, no run... the next batter did the same...

that first batter with the bases loaded did the same thing three times during the game... a few other people did too... i kept saying be patient at the plate and don't make it easy for the pitcher by swinging at bad pitches and most of the team listened, but this guy and a few others just could not seem to control themselves in the batters box and made outs with runners on that would have been walks... this guy also ended a rally by running home when he was out halfway to home...

half of their runs, or more, came on errors, but even with errors, we left runs on bases and made foolish running errors and the same guy who made two of the running errors was always out there trying to coach the bases... it makes no sense... i don't want to be mean, but to win a team needs to play to win, make winning decisions, play the odds, and put people with the best chance of making the best decision in the place where they can make the best decision... this team doesn't do that...

so deep breath and let it go... if the team is not interested in learning how to win, then i'll just play cuz jackson is playing and we'll have fun together and i won't care if we win or lose... all i have to do is turn off all knowledge of how to play the game and remember we are only we are out there to have fun...

can be done :)
