while the usa rankings stagnate and fall on comparison scales for freedom and almost every level of science, especially green science (also on social and family and life and safety and jobs and education rankings) mostly because corporations seem determined to take down the us economy, other countries are making leaps and bounds in technology... advances in renewable energy, many places in the world are building the future... on the wonder of aesthetics meet function front, i think i love what azerbaijan is doing... it is recreating itself through architecture... the curved geometry, multifunctional buildings, and tubular steel construction of the new architecture presents new challenges and some amazing ingenuity that creates "space frames" that look like they belong be a circus or carnival or amusement park...
