been a while, like a week or few, since i pulled an all nighter... another unhealthy influence email provided tonight, aye?... yes, sarcasm, of course... but i did download a lot of email and deleted a lot of email and even found some old email and responded to two emails (one from an old friend who used to be my buffet friend cuz we both love buffets so much and that email was lost in the inbox for a couple of months, but that's another story for another entry i suppose)...
anyway, it was actually terra nova that kept me awake as i taped the entire season to see if i like it... after a few episodes watched while downloading mail and doing other computer things, i decided to keep watching the episodes i recorded to see how the writers play out the premise of starting humanity over again by sending a supposedly specially selected group of humans back in time 85 million years where dinosaurs still ruled... not sure what plans they have for the extinction event they know is coming eventually, but it's an interesting flawed premise done many times with the twist of yet another conspiracy theory about exactly why they were sent back in time... of course they still would rather fight than negotiate or communicate because even in science fiction, at least on tv, humans just don't have the mental capacity to evolve... at least not according to tv writers and audience raters and so on... the obvious secret agenda dividing two camps of people all supposedly chosen to start the human race over again without the same mistakes that destroyed the planet 85 million years in the future is pathetic... land of the lost meets jurrasic park meets brave new world...
with writers had some real imaginations, but then the producers probably force formulae (complete with snap judgments and inability to tell the truth which turns simply issues into life-death drama and of course the teenagers and children who think they know more than the adults causing even more problems by keeping secrets and further dividing the reason, logic, and power that an honest group can have) on them too...
