alas, alack, and all that sighing jazz... the friday night team i was going to join that plays around the corner that jackson plays with is apparently so disorganized that they waited until the last minute to tell jackson that the pitcher that was supposed to be leaving with a few other guys to play on a men's competitive team because they bitch a lot about playing at a recreation level will not be leaving so they don't need me unless i want to sit on the bench almost all the time so as of now i won't be playing with jackson right around the corner and might not play at all on friday nights because i told the other two teams that i was firm about the fact that i won't be back (so they could find a new pitcher, which is only fair) so i may be out of luck for fridays... i'll think about it more when the brain is more awake...
no, do not give up, stop being stupid, do not feel sorry for yourself, eat crow if you have to but go back to the teams and league that you thought you were leaving and ask to be taken back... do it... now...
but it's complicated... the guy organizing the old team is not going to continue next season and he wants no one to know... the girl organizing the coed team may be leaving as well... i am not sure who knew i was not coming back... and there's a guy who wants to pitch for them who, if words is out i am gone, already replaced me in his mind and the mind of whomever knows i was not coming back... there's a similar situation with the coed team... awkward, at least... but not knowing who's in charge makes it challenging to reinstate myself, no less do it delicately...
stop making excuses...
right, so ok, i texted willie, my friend who used to run the men's team and who got me into the league and told him if he returns to run the team, which he said he might do, then i'll come back to play with him... he doesn't want anyone to know he might return, so again, awkard and i will respect and wait hoping my position is still available when they decide what they are doing...
all i want to do is play softball and get exercise, ya know?...
narf :)
