staring is back

happiness was gone for the weekend, but he is back staring and running to the door with every movement because, after all, he's a dog and does not understand that i already know he wants to be outside at every moment... he's whole lot more actively staring and trigger happy with begging his first day or two back from sanford's place because sanford has a big patio and doggie door and backyard so he is outside a whole lot more like mostly whenever he wants... that's also why he pees more blood when he gets back, but that's his aging process and we've got to work out a balance between freedom and outside and restricting his instinct to mark as much territory as possible by squeezing his bladder muscles long after he has anything to pee which then bursts some capillaries and results in peeing blood... it happens whenever he's not stopped from trying to mark territory when he is dry and the only way to stop him is to not let him out or to yank his leash and physically pull him away (sometimes vigorously as the instinct to mark territory is strong in him) immediately when he starts rooting for a spot to mark... what a drag it is getting on...

anyway, the poor baby was staring at me when i opened my eyes from sleeping and has been staring at me most of the afternoon because it's over 80 degrees outside so the patio door is not open... he's such a lost puppy his first day or two back from sanford's, it's sad... but it's the hot (and humid) season so for the next five months or so the door will not be open as much and he just has to get used to it... poor puppy...

sleep was good, narf :)
