landscaping sand

i wonder if the desert gets as much landscaping activity as we get outside here... yes, i know, it's florida and a little rain blooms into all sorts of grass and weeds and greenery, but it so happens that the grass in front of (and in back of) this apartment (and the apartment next door that shares our walkway) is quite dead, killed by who knows what and definitely not helped by the thousand pound (at least) mowers that dig into the soft sand (because the sod has been washed away long ago) and create a mess that washes into the storm drains and clog them up, leading to a definite flood hazard right outside our door... all that aside, the noise these landscaping machines make at least a couple of days a week is quite annoying when the landscaping itself is non-existent... hey, gardeners, leave my sand alone...

seriously, stirring it up every week is just raising the flood risk and making a big mess... and aren't there noise ordinances in this city?... the property manager and i had a slightly tense at times conversation about their lack of office skills (three months and they still don't have the accounts straight, for instance, i was not on the lease in their computers after they've been told twice and they took and cashed my checks for moving in and rent for three months but even more, about the liability of the flooding of a very uneven (as in not even close to level) walkway with major cracks across it...

mental note, take photos of the path during and after storms...

so how did your morning start off? :)
