there are friends who love to watch tv with you and then, there are tv friends... the first friends are fun, real, and interactive... the second friends can be fun, are not interactive, and, well, imaginary... there is no reality in tv friends who are actually in shows on tv no matter how much you actually feel close to them and part of their lives... their lives are imaginary too... yes, no matter how much you love them (take a deep breath and sit down if you have to), they are not real...
this can come as a shock to some people... and can make others sad... i sometimes feel sad that some of my favorite characters on tv are not real people... sometimes i imagine what the actors playing the character might be like and wonder if they would be as meaningful to me as their characters are... and other people i just enjoy for who they are out of character like on talk shows or interviews (not that those situations are real life, but they are a bit more revealing for most actors than their roles)...
i still love to imagine knowing some tv friends though :)
