home with humus

life is changing every day... challenges rise and fall, but tend to rise more as the years pass... in 2012, i experienced two injuries we can consider major if we define major as interfering with daily activities... a broken ankle with multiple ruptured foot ligaments that kept me off my feet qualifies and more recently, an arm injury that kept me from using my arm for weeks and has kept me from playing ball for too long qualifies... these were the first two actual activity changing injuries i can remember in this life since a couple of broken fingers as a child...

aging is not an easy process... the chronic neck and ear aches remind me of that most days... job changing is not an easy process... gonna move 20 miles from here in a few weeks and that is not an easy process... but all in all, it's been a good life and i have been very lucky... a couple of friends are in the hospital getting chemotherapy for cancer... people get sicker and more hurt than i am every day... people die every day... i remind myself that i have it great compared to most of the world...

we have become a culture of extremes and while i enjoy my extremes, i also want to stay in touch with the simple pleasures and blessings of this life... to experience and enjoy the silence... the luxury of time at home... it's a good life...

lunch was humus and crackers... and two liters of water... how are you? :)
