grrrrrrumble

missed the end of the seattle-atlanta game, but able to listen to it in the car before the softball game... i didn't have to warm up, after all... heck, i didn't have to be there at all, they had plenty of people... and i chose to miss the new england-houston game for the team, rah rah...

they won the first game so they made it into the finals... the team that made it in to play us are a team we beat earlier in the season (i was still pitching then), but they were very unpleasant to play and were worse today because they were drinking all through their first game and obnoxious drunks during our game... very insulting, taunting and disrespectful... the ump couldn't control them because they were drunk and didn't care... it was not a family experience and unfortunately some of our players brought their families to the game...

we lost 14-11 and i sat there wishing i could hit cuz we left a lot of runners on base... and third base coaching could have been a whole lot better as twice runners were sent home only to be easy outs by someone who wants to do more than he has the ability to do... unfortunately, the team hit our weak spot too often and what should have been easy fly ball outs were doubles, triples, and home runs... all i could do was bite my tongue and cheer the team on... alas, the people are great people, but they are very out of shape (half are obese) and the slowness on the bases costs a lot of hits and runs and the slowness in the field allows easy fly balls and ground balls to become hits and runs... but great people is worth it cuz we have fun... and heck, they came in second without me, so yay team...

unfortunately, it was an unpleasant team to play... for example, they chanted "manatee, manatee" when one of our overweight players fell and had a big laugh at his expense continuing that chant... they were drunk enough not to care what the umpire said or about the fact that there were kids watching... the umpire threatened to throw one of their players out of the game for arguing too much, but backed down when he kept arguing... all in all we just wanted to get off the field... once again a sunday afternoon season with the orlando sports and social club ends with an unpleasant experience...

it's mostly because they do not provide enough or strong enough umpires to enforce the rules and control the aggressive/intimidating (or drunk aggressive/intimidating) teams...
