movie reruns

this is the time of year for the reruns of the movies most of us have seen more than a few times... last night it was miracle on 34th street... twice... santa is real, for santa is the giving heart in all of us... and tonight, it is a christmas carol... charles dicken's masterpiece of love and peace and joy and the gift of the giving heart... love, the core of every human joy, the core of every human religion, the core of every goodness in life... and a touch of the xmas songs with a few religious words, but that is so not the point of the story and i hope we all can see the point clearly without illusions or any divisiveness... i hope we can see that had dicken's lived in another culture at another time he'd have written the cathartic story with a touch of another religion or cultural myth so it can reach all people with the profound learning experience that is the same for all people... the same experience the grinch felt when his heart grew three sizes... the same experience george bailey felt when he remember what love and family and friends truly mean... we don't need the illusions or supernatural to know, we don't need to believe in anything beyond the giving heart inside, we just need to feel the gift of the giving heart... the child inside knows... it is love and it is felt best and most joyously when you give it... i hope you feel that tonight...
