fun losses

the two friday night teams played rather poorly... i played third base for the first team because we were short players and the other team shored 9 runs along the way and we were hitting very poorly... in the last inning a bit of a rally got us to 7 runs, but we fell short with the go ahead runs on base because the team has two relatively automatic outs and one of them got up with two outs and made the last out of the game, end of rally... the second game started out wild with us scoring 11 runs in the first and we started taking it easy, but then the other team scored 13 runs in the bottom of the first because nobody seemed to be able to catch the ball... we'd have gotten out of the inning ahead 11-0 but two fly balls to left bounced out of the left fielder's glove a nobody seemed to be able to field ground balls and the errors just piled up to give the other team all those runs... that continued throughout the game with at least 20 errors by us in the game, probably more... on one play i threw home to get an out on a force play and the ball went into the catcher's glove and bounced right out... another play i threw to first and the first baseman missed the ball... we never played so poorly before in the field... and the final score was 25-23 with us leaving the go ahead runs on the bases in the last inning... personally, both were good games for me as i went 6 for 7 overall and the one out was a fielder's choice that scored a run... i scored five times and knocked in at least seven runs, but alas, we still lost... next week we are off and the week after starts the playoffs... hopefully we will play a lot better in the field then... still, we had fun somehow...

i don't expect the first team to win, but the second team was undefeated going into this game and should have easily won if at least a few balls were caught... fans can come down to ft lauderdale next weekend where the sunday morning team will be playing in a weekend tournament... we'll be staying at the westin... gotta book the room for me and jackson now, hope you are enjoying your night...
