another request to set up a game night for next sunday (a pool party) from another meetup friend so i am now a pro at setting up meetups, yay meetup assistant organizer me (you can stop bowing now, but feel free to continue cheering)...
meanwhile, the nba finals are over and sad for the little minds around here, the obvious played out... better coach coached a better team and won... the magic did not have the experience or heart to take the pressure this year and their coach's lack of discipline, leadership, and focus did not help... nelson was obviously not ready to play at an nba finals level, but the coach continued to pull alston when he was hot and the team was hot around him... and dwight needs a better coach to take his talent to the next level... ewing was a great player, but i don't see him as a great coach... i loved him as a player, but he played on heart more than brains...
ok, so i am no expert and i can be wrong, but oh well, there's my take on the magic for now... too much individual play, especially from nelson, not enough team play, not enough passing, not enough histle when it mattered most... and definitely not enough consistency in shooting from everywhere... that is all largely discipline and consistency and focus that comes from coaching... the magic ain't got it...
maybe next year, they'll find it... i hope so, being that the locals here are depressed and self-indulged enough without the collective thrill of having the magic to blame for it...
ah, but we'll always have meetups :)
